Frequently asked questions.
What do I need to Bring?
A VALID NYS FISHING LICENSE! All tackle including rods, reels, lures, tip-ups, bait, shanty and life jackets are included but please feel free to bring your favorite rod or lucky lure! Polarized sunglasses, hats, gloves, snow pants, winter jacket, boots, and rain gear are highly recommended based upon forecasted weather. We do not supply food or drinks so please pack accordingly.
Do I have to leave a tip and if so, how much?
Tips are never required, but greatly appreciated, especially when the captain goes above and beyond. Tips range from 15-20% of the trip cost and are used towards gas, tackle, insurances, boat maintenance, truck and trailer expenses, marina fees and operational expenses.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes, if you are 16 years of age or older, you are required to purchase a NYS fishing license if you are touching the rod. If you’re on the ice, but not fishing, you still need a license regardless.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Steve DiNigro is a fully licensed NYS Guide (#9838). The boat is a certified Public Vessel inspected by DEC every year. Steve is certified in First Aid and CPR with First Aid available on board and on the ice.
